- ► Why did men live advanced years before the flood?
- Before the flood the earth had waters above the firmament and waters below the firmament.
- It is speculated there was an orb of ice surrounding the earth prior to the flood creating a tropical like terrarium for men on earth and shielding them from the sun’s rays resulting in longer life spans. This makes sense because:
- A mist came up from the chambers below the crust of the earth,
- There was no rain prior to the flood.
- There wasn’t a rainbow prior to the flood. See God’s covenant with Noah Gen 9:12-15,
- The amount of rain that fell on the earth meant it wasn’t a normal rainstorm, but rather that the ice was broken open and water spewed up from the chambers in the earth. Possibly explained by a comet breaking the ice shield and hitting the earth.
- Psalm 74:15 You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up mighty rivers.
- ►How was man made in the image of God?
- ►Since God is invisible, it has to be interpreted as something other than physical appearance leaving a multitude of speculations some of which include: dominance (rule), communication (language), creating (by word or deed).
- ►Since man is made in God’s image, it is profane to think about man accepting the image of “the beast”, which is called the “mark of the beast”. For more detailed information see: The Mark of the Beast ~Barbara Grover
- ►The meaning of “image”
- The meaning of the word “Image” is Strong’s h6754 ṣelem
From an unused root meaning “a shade”. (As though man were made as a shadow of God)
A shadow, outline, or an empty thing. Figuratively an illusion, something vain. - My Interpretation: Anyone believing he is not made in the image of God – but worships himself, is vain, empty, and his life is futile. Adam/Man was made in God’s image (A shadow of God) and it is God who fills him.
- The meaning of the word “Image” is Strong’s h6754 ṣelem
- Man is not a physical being having a spiritual experience. Man is a spiritual being having a physical experience.

Enoch was spared from the coming judgment. His name, pronounced Chanokh in Hebrew, means “initiated,” or “dedicated,” the same word root as Chanukkah/Hanukah, the festival of dedication.
Likewise, the faithful are promised to be spared from the coming judgment of the seven year tribulation.
I Thessalonians 1:9b-10 how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.
I Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him (a pre-tribulation resurrection) those who sleep in Jesus (and a pre-tribulation rapture).
