THREE AND A HALF YEARS IN SCRIPTURE AND SOURCES RELATED TO SCRIPTURAL HISTORY

• The Future Tribulation will last seven years. In the middle of those seven years, cut in half, are three and a half years, or three years and six months. Three years and six months means the event occurred in the middle of the fourth year.
• 
  THE THREE AND A HALF YEARS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
  
• 1. In the middle of Daniel’s 70th week after no rain for 3-1/2 years an abominable idol is placed in the Holy of Holies. (Daniel 9:20-27)
  
• 2. Antiochus “sent out his soldiers to plunder them without mercy. He also spoiled the temple, and put a stop to the constant practice of offering a daily sacrifice of expiation for three years and six months.“ (The Historical “Type” of the Antichrist)

• 3. Elijah’s 3-1/2 years of no rain causing a drought and forcing a choice between God and idols upon each altar. (Luke 4:25) (James 5:17)

SCRIPTURE IS RESPLENDENT IN PATTERNS, SYMBOLISM, TYPES AND SHADOWS.

• What does Three Years and a Half represent to God and why are they all connected with a drought and idol worship?
  
• 1. Three and a half is a half of Seven, a sacred number. See the Pattern of 3-1-3 under Topic: Three-One-Three.
  
• 2. Three and a half means the Sacred Number Seven is broken. The Root Meaning of Seven is a Covenant/Oath/Swear/Treaty.

• 3. Brokenness:
  
  • * In the middle of the seven year tribulation, the Antichrist makes a covenant with Israel which he breaks in its fourth year.
  • Antiochus IV is a type of Daniel’s Antichrist in almost every way except one: Jesus said it was still to come:
  • Matthew 24:15 – The Great Tribulation – “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),
    
  • * Israel broke God’s covenant when Elijah confronted the people to make a choice: Who are you going to worship? Baal? or the only true God: the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Once they recognized that Yehova is God did the rain return.
    
  • The word “Rain” in Hebrew refers to the Messiah. When the rain is gone, it is a sign that the Messiah, the Son of God, has departed.
    
• 4. Jesus had the last supper just before He was arrested and crucified. Only His blood can heal those things which are broken by Jesus breaking Himself:
  
  • I Corinthians 11:24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
  • After the bread “He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood.” The Hebrew word for blood is “dām“, which is also the Hebrew word for red wine.
