Isaiah 54

A Perpetual Covenant of Peace

Isaiah 54:1 “Sing O barren,
You who have not borne!
Break forth into singing, and cry aloud,
You who have not labored with child!
For more are the children of the desolate
Than the children of the married woman,” says the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ).
  • Israel is spiritually “barren” in “delivering” (a harvest of souls) for God, and the Fig Tree is symbolic of the Jewish nation.

The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree: Luke 13:He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 9And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”

Ask of Me, and I will give You
    The nations for Your inheritance,
