🏛️🌟 Majestic Relics Unearthed!

A stunning collection of adorned architectural stone artifacts, dating back to the First Temple period, has been discovered during excavations on Jerusalem’s Armon Hanatziv Promenade.

These artifacts, crafted from soft limestone and featuring decorative carvings, include capitals in the Proto-Aeolian style, a key architectural element of royal buildings from that era. Highlighting their cultural significance, this artistic motif is even represented on Israel’s five-shekel coin. Excavation director Yaakov Billig notes these pieces were likely part of a grand structure built between the reigns of King Hezekiah and King Josiah, during Jerusalem’s restoration post the Assyrian siege of 701 BC. #Archaeology #Jerusalem #Historic Discovery
