Psalm 85
- About the title: Jesus rules in Jerusalem in the future Millennium.
- The Era of the Prophetic Millennium after the future Seven-Year Tribulation

Prayer that the Lord Will Restore Favor to the Land
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
Psalm 85:1 Lord (yᵊhōvâ), You have been favorable to Your land;
You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.
- The “Regathering” of the Remnant during the Restoration.
Psalm 85:2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people;
You have covered all their sin. Selah
Psalm 85:3 You have taken away all Your wrath;
You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.
- The “Day of the Lord’s Wrath” is fulfilled at the end of the Tribulation.
Psalm 85:4 Restore us, O God (‘ĕlōhîm) of our salvation,
And cause Your anger toward us to cease.
Psalm 85:5 Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?
Psalm 85:6 Will You not revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?
Hosea 6:2 After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight.
What do Psalm 85:6 combined with Hosea 6:2 suggest?
Pattern # 1:
The pattern points to Jesus’s crucifixion. He was in the ground two days, and on the third day, He rose from the dead (He was revived).
Because of Jesus, Israel, as a nation, will be resurrected.
Pattern # 2:
It has been approximately two thousand years since the crucifixion. The millennium of one thousand years equates to the “third day.” If this pattern holds true, then the Seven-Year Tribulation is immediate, and the rapture of the church, imminent.
Furthermore, if this pattern holds true, the history of man is 7,000 years to match the 7 days of creation.
II Peter 3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
These patterns appear in multiple scriptures, including Jesus’ week (7 days) of affliction: He confronted the Pharisees in the temple for three days, His last supper and crucifixion, then two days in the grave, and on the third day he was “revived”.
