Zechariah 14
- About the title: “The Day of the Lord” is scripture’s way of saying “The Day of the Lord’s Judgment and Return”.
- See {1 of 21} Zechariah 14:1 for a simple timeline of history and prophecy.
The Day of the Lord
Zechariah 14:1 Behold, the day of the Lord (yᵊhōvâ) is coming (The Seven-Year Tribulation),
And your spoil (plunder or booty) will be divided in your midst (but not for you).
- Concepts:
- History repeats itself when evil spirits never die; they wait for another opportunity. A Prophecy can be fulfilled in more than one event. One such example is Daniel’s Abomination of Desolation (Daniel 9:27), when Antiochus IV stands in the Holy of Holies as Zeus/god, according to the Roman Calendar, December 25, 167 BC. However, it will be fulfilled again during the Seven-Year Tribulation by the coming Antichrist. (Matthew 24:15 The Great Tribulation)

- Jerusalem will be plundered in the prophetic battle of Gog and Magog three and a half years before the Day of the Lord. After Israel signs a Seven-Year Peace Treaty, the Antichrist betrays the Jews and attacks Jerusalem.
- Leviticus 23:27 “Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.
