Zechariah 14
Zechariah 14:10 All the land shall be turned into a plain (like the Arabah, a wasteland) from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be raised up and inhabited in her place from Benjamin’s Gate to the place of the First Gate and the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses.
- The earthquake will lower the mountains but raise the valleys into a flat plain (a wasteland), excluding Jerusalem, which will be raised up both literally and figuratively. Her height is a statement of Jesus’ authority during His reign in the millennium after the Seven-Year Tribulation.
- “Zechariah 14:10 offers a visionary description of cosmic transformation and urban restoration.“
“The grammatical juxtaposition between flattening (יִסֹּוב) and elevation (וְרָאֲמָה) isn’t just stylistic—it’s theological. In the last day, the grammar of the world is rewritten: valleys rise, pride falls, and Jerusalem alone is lifted up to endure in God’s presence.” ~BiblicalHebrew.org - Geba (Jeba): The distance from Jerusalem is about 6 miles.
