Chart: Names of The Seven Year Tribulation

The Time of Jacob’s Trouble:

Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, But he (Jacob/Israel) shall be saved out of it.

Jeremiah 30:7 covers prophecy for end times.

Why is it called the time of Jacob’s trouble?

  1. There was a seven year famine.
  2. The tribulation will last seven years and it will be a time of famine of God’s word.
  3. Joseph, as a type of Jesus Christ, saved his family out of the famine.

Amos 8:11 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord.

  1. God will save the remnant of Jewish believers, the descendants of Jacob, out of the time of tribulation.
  2. Jacob is also called Israel.

The Time of Sorrows:

Isaiah 13:8 And they will be afraid. Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them; They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth; They will be amazed at one another; Their faces will be like flames.

Mark 13:8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows.

Why is it called the time of sorrows? Labor Pains and Delivery:

  1. The time of sorrows refers to a woman in labor.
  2. It is a time of labor pains when God is getting ready to deliver His people.

Isaiah 66:9 Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the Lord. “Shall I who cause delivery shut up the womb?” says your God.

  1. The delivery began in 1948 when Israel became a nation.

Isaiah 66:7-9 “Before she was in labor, she gave birth; Before her pain came, She delivered a male child. 8 Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children. 9 Shall I bring to the time of birth, and not cause delivery?” says the Lord.

ISRAEL IS “BORN” At midnight between May 14th and May 15th 1948.

  1. The delivery will be complete at the end of the seven year tribulation when Jesus returns and saves (delivers) the remnant.

Psalm 33:19 To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.

Psalm 50:15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble (the tribulation); I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

This verse also promises believers God will save them in the day of their personal trouble.

Psalm 119:153 ( ר RESH ) Consider my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget Your law.

Psalm 144:7 Stretch out Your hand from above (heaven); Rescue me and deliver me out of great waters (a sea of people and their turbulence), from the hand of foreigners (Gentiles, anyone not born Jewish)

Jesus is God’s right arm (below).

Psalm 44:3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them.

Psalm 89:13 You have a mighty arm; Strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand.

Psalm 98:1 (A Song of Praise to the Lord for His Salvation and Judgment) Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.

The Time of Affliction

Jeremiah 15:11 The Lord said: “Surely it will be well with your remnant; Surely I will cause the enemy to intercede with you In the time of adversity and in the time of affliction.

Isaiah 63:9 In all their affliction He was afflicted, And the Angel of His Presence saved them; In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; And He bore (gave birth to) them and carried them All the days of old.

The definition of Affliction: Thrashing, Crushing, Tribulation.

It is like God is taking Israel to the woodshed and giving her an old fashioned thrashing (whipping).

The term “Thrashing” comes from the time of a harvest where wheat is crushed by a threshing board becoming separated from the worthless chaff (tares).

  1. Jerusalem was purchased by King David when it was a “threshing floor”.
  2. The time of tribulation is a threshing floor. At the end of the threshing is a harvest.
  3. The time of affliction matches the Jewish feast of “the seven days of affliction” between the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) and the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). Together these feasts are called “The High Holy Days” and the “Days of Awe”. Together, they total ten days.
  4. The feast of the seven days of affliction is a time of self reflection and repentance of sins.
  5. Whether figuratively or literally, these feasts match the 1) Rapture (feast of trumpets) 2) Seven Days of Affliction (the tribulation), and 3) The Return of Jesus to the world (the Day of Atonement).
  6. Anyone who does not inflict their souls during the seven days of affliction is cut off from the assembly.

The Jewish Feast of the Seven Days of Affliction illustrate the Seven Year Tribulation.

The “Seven Days of Affliction” are part of the High Holy Days, or Days of Awe in the Jewish Feasts.

The High Holy Days are celebrated for ten days. They begin with Rosh Hashanah (the Feast of Trumpets) which lasts two days, then the seven days of affliction, and lastly Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement).

During the seven days of affliction Jews are to examine themselves and repent of their sins in preparation for the Day of Atonement (Yom meaning Day, and Kippur meaning Atonement)

The word “Affliction” means “Threshing” or “Tribulation”.

Threshing is a harvest term when the wheat is beaten in order to separate it from the chaff.

The Seven Days of Affliction is “One Week” and it is the Seven year Tribulation. In the book of Daniel, a week is seven years (Daniel’s seventy weeks).

Isaiah 48:10 Behold, I have refined you (Israel), but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

Daniel 12:10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

Zechariah 13:9 I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’ ”

The Entire Book of Revelation (From the First Page to the Last Page)

The Toes on Nebuchadnezzar’s Statue

Daniel 2:33 Its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay.

Daniel 2:34 You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet (including the toes) of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces.

Daniel 2:41 Whereas you saw the feet and toes, partly of potter’s clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; yet the strength of the iron shall be in it, just as you saw the iron mixed with ceramic clay.

Daniel 2:42 And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile.

The toes are the seven year tribulation. There are ten toes on the statue. The ten toes are the ten kings who give their power to the Antichrist (the beast) for one hour, and the ten horns on the dragon (beast)

Revelation 17:12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.

Revelation 13:1 Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea (of people), having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name.

The Ten Horns on the Last Head on the Beast

The Beast is Satan who has control over the Jews for Seven Kingdoms beginning with Babylon, then Persia, then Greece, then two simultaneously: the King of the North and the King of the South, then Rome and finally the kingdom yet to come: the kingdom of the Antichrist during the tribulation.

Revelation 17:10 There are also seven kings (the seven crowns on the seven heads). Five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet come. And when he comes, he must continue a short time (seven years).

These are the seven heads on the beast. The last head has ten horns (the ten kings who give their power to the Antichrist (the beast indwelt by Satan) for one hour. These horns match the ten toes on Nebuchadnezzar’s statue.

From the rebuilding of the destroyed wall after Nebuchadnezzar’s destruction and captivity of Jerusalem, to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus was 483 years. With the rejection of Jesus, God interjected the Age of Grace with the Gentiles. A time is coming when the Age of Grace is finished and the Time of Tribulation begins affecting the entire world but is focused on the Jews and Jerusalem. When a seven year peace treaty is signed with Israel, it is the signal for the seven year Tribulation to begin.

The Day of the Lord’s Indignation

Ezekiel 22:24 “Son of man, say to her: ‘You are a land that is not cleansed or rained on in the day of indignation.’

Zephaniah 3:8 A Faithful Remnant: “Therefore wait for Me,” says the Lord, “Until the day I rise up for plunder; My determination is to gather the nations To My assembly of kingdoms, To pour on them My indignation, All My fierce anger; All the earth shall be devoured With the fire of My jealousy.

At the end of the Tribulation, Jesus will return to the earth with His saints and His angels to intervene in the Battle of Armageddon to rescue the remnant of Jews. At the end of the Tribulation, every last Jew will be a believer in the Son of God, their Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

Hosea 5:15 I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.”

When God sent the Jews into captivity He told them not to even speak His Name. When God spoke to Daniel concerning the Jews He called them “Your People”. When Jesus returns He will call them “My People”. See the verses below.

Jeremiah 44:26 “Therefore hear you the word of Yahweh, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt. Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says Jehovah, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of ANY MAN OF JUDAS in all the land of Egypt, saying ‘As the Lord Jehovah liveth.”
