| He must be free himself. Jesus/Yeshua is free from any sin. | 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. |
| He must be able to pay the price. Jesus/Yeshua paid the price of sin when he died on the cross. | Titus 2:14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. 1 Peter 1:18 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. |

| The law functions in connection with redeeming the land. | The law functions in connection with revenge. If a close relative was murdered, the kinsman must be the “avenger of blood” who would catch the murderer and kill him. (Num 35:6-34) The last of the offices of the kinsman-redeemer was that of avenging the blood of a murdered relative. If a man were stricken to death, it became a solemn obligation to exact life for life, and the blood-feud incumbent on all the family was especially binding on the next-of-kin. | Satan is man’s murderer.
