Psalm 122
From Jerusalem Past to Jerusalem Future; What was, what is, and what will be. The first tourist map published in the 1930s in British-Mandate era Jerusalem. The nation of Israel was “born” on May 15,1948.
- “Not many maps are capable of visually resurrecting a city. The task is even more challenging when that city is Jerusalem, and not only that but Jerusalem as it appeared eighty-eight years ago. Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ).”
- The house of the Lord is also the family of the Lord. It is a house of royalty like “the house of Windsor”
Psalm 122:2 Our feet have been standing
Within your gates, O Jerusalem!
Psalm 122:3 Jerusalem is built
As a city that is compact together,
Psalm 122:4 Where the tribes go up,
The tribes of the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ),
To the Testimony of Israel (Or: As a testimony to),
To give thanks to the name of the Lord (yâ).
Psalm 122:5 For thrones are set there for judgment,
The thrones of the house of David.
- Judgments during the millennium
- Perhaps a court for the Antichrist, the False Prophet, and those involved in the crimes of the Antichrist; just like the Nuremberg trials except more extensive and with more justice.
Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
Psalm 122:7 Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”
Psalm 122:8 For the sake of my brethren and companions,
I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
Psalm 122:9 Because of the house of the Lord our God (Yᵊhōvâ ‘ĕlōhîm)
I will seek your good.
- The Jerusalem of the Future: The New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven.
