What should I learn from this chapter?
- Psalm 8:5 is literally “God” “Elohim” and not angels. It is Jewish tradition to translate this verse as “angels”.

- God’s glory is set above the heavens called the highest of heavens.
Psalm 8:2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained (established) strength,

- The fingers of God are symbolic of the Holy Spirit. Jesus wrote in the dirt with His fingers (John 8:6, Jeremiah 17:13). The Ten Commandments were written in stone by the fingers of God (Exodus 31:18). The fingers of God wrote on the wall in Belshazzar’s Palace (Daniel 5:5). Jesus cast out demons by the finger of God (Luke 11:20)
Psalm 8:4 What is man (anas H605: root: sick, mortal) that You are mindful of him,
And the Son of Man (Son of Adam) that You visit (give attention to or care for) him.
- The appearance of a “double meaning”, speaking of mankind in general and the specific prophecy of Jesus. One step further is the redemption of mankind because of Jesus’ work on the cross.
