PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF LIGHT
- The material of God
- The material used to create the universe
- Light is a non-stop flow of particles which travel in a wave.
- Light is both energy and matter: which has the ability to convert from one to another and the other to one.(b)
- Matter is really 99.99999% energy.
- Among the relative aspects of the universe, the speed of light is a constant.(a)
- The spectrums of light are: invisible, visible, invisible: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- There are seven distinctions of light waves; the symbolic number in scripture for perfection and completion (c).
- The seven are: radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet (UV) light, X-rays and gamma-rays.
- Color is the small visible form of the light spectrum. Jesus is the visible form of the invisible God.
- There are seven distinctions of light waves; the symbolic number in scripture for perfection and completion (c).
- Light is a metaphor for “revelation” since men are able to “see” in the light.
- Light=Truth=Reality are Biblically interchangeable. Men can believe anything they want but in reality, there is only One Truth.
- Light is a metaphor or Life, since life cannot grow without light. The opposite of life is death while the opposite of light is darkness. Like Light – Life. Like Darkness – Death.
- Footnotes:
- (a) Einstein once asked himself, “What would a beam of light look like if I were a beam of light traveling alongside it?”
- He discovered it would still look like a beam of light.
- He discovered the speed of light was a constant regardless of the speed of the object beside it.
- How can that be? If you are going the speed of light, light will still pass you at the same speed as though you were standing still.
- The speed of light is a mysterious and miraculous phenomenon.
- (b) The atomic bomb was created by converting the atom’s matter into energy E=MC2. Energy can also be converted to matter.
- Sourav Bhattacharjee, Intern at Samsung Semiconductor India (2018-present)
- Yes, energy can be converted into matter with mass M=E/c2. Although, It would take a huge amount of energy to get a tiny mass. For example, to make a glass of water, you would need 2.2468 × 10^16 J of energy. That is the equivalent of detonating over 250 Fatman bombs.
- In nature, this stuff occurs in a phenomena called pair production, in which a photon(energy) changes into an electron and a positron. Here the mass-energy is conserved. These particles may then collide back and release photons again.
- But here’s the kicker. Most of what we ordinarily call mass is actually energy itself! Not the converted equivalent, but the actual thing.
- We know that matter is made up of atoms and molecules. They give the mass to the object. What are atoms made up of? Electrons, protons and neutrons right? The mass of the electron is insignificant, so the bulk of mass we experience daily come from the nucleons only. But protons and neutrons are made up of quarks. Three quarks precisely. So ultimately you would expect the mass of everyday objects to come from the masses of bazillions of quarks right?
mass of three quarks in a proton = 9.4 MeV/c^2
mass of a proton = 938 MeVc/c^2
Where does the remaining 99% of the mass go? The rest comes from the binding energy of the quarks. That is it. - It is another form of energy, and it is responsible for almost all of the mass we experience all the time.
- Sourav Bhattacharjee, Intern at Samsung Semiconductor India (2018-present)
- Everything is actually energy. Some of it is visible, most of it is invisible.
- (a) Einstein once asked himself, “What would a beam of light look like if I were a beam of light traveling alongside it?”
PURPOSES OF LIGHT:
1. Light overcomes the darkness. Death, Sin, Tribulation and Blindness are thought of as darkness. Jesus overcame Death, Sin, Tribulation and Blindness.
- Death: Romans 6:9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.
- Sin: 2 Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
- Tribulation: John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
- Blindness: Isaiah 42:16 I will bring the blind by a way they did not know; I will lead them in paths they have not known. I will make darkness light before them, And crooked places straight. These things I will do for them, And not forsake them.
2. Light reveals that which is hidden in the darkness. Hidden things can be either the treasures of wisdom God hides from men, or the evil motives of a corrupt sinner. Jesus illuminates all truth.
- Isaiah 45:3 I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel.
- Job 34:22 There is no darkness nor shadow of death where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
- John 16:13-15 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
- Revelation 21:23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.
3. Light creates life. Jesus is the creator.
- John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
- Ephesians 3:9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;
- Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
- Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
4. It is a constant. Jesus never gave in to sin and He never backed down from truth.
- James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
- Malachi 3:6a “For I am the Lord, I do not change;
- John 8:46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?
5. Light makes a rainbow. Jesus appears as a rainbow, literally, symbolically, and figuratively.
- Genesis 9:13 I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
- Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory (sublime brilliance) of the Lord.
- Revelation 10:1 I saw still another mighty angel (messenger) coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.
- Jesus comes down to us like the rain refreshing the earth and a bow means “to cut a covenant”. Jesus was the “rainbow” and he made a covenant with Noah after the flood. Rain literally means teacher.
- Psalm 72:6 He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing, Like showers that water the earth.
- Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord.
- Hosea 6:3 Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.
- Joel 2:23 Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully, And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first.
6. Light defines reality. Jesus is the reality of Truth.
- John 1:14 The Word Becomes Flesh “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory (sublime brilliance of His Light), the glory (sublime brilliance) as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
- John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
- John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
7. The Light of Life sinks into the earth at night and it rises in the morning. Jesus sunk into the earth at His death and He rose in the morning.
- Acts 26:23 that the Christ would suffer (die), that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles.”
8. Light carries information. Jesus teaches sharing information about the spiritual truths.
- James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
- Matthew 13:54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?
- Luke 21:15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist.
- Mark 11:18b because all the people were astonished at His teaching.
9. Photons of light don’t decay. Jesus did not decay in the grave.
- Psalm 16:10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption (decay).
- Acts 2:31 he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.
10. In empty space a light wave does not dissipate (grow smaller) no matter how far it travels.
- Psalm 104:2 Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.
11. Light is eternal. (You cannot destroy light. It can be converted but never destroyed. ie: Light from a campfire is converted to heat.) Jesus is eternal. He has always been and He will always be. Jesus, who was the second person of the Godhead in heaven, became man.
- John 3:15 that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
- Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
- John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
12. What happens when there is no light in your eye? You will just see black – forever. If there is no light entering your eye then you just see black.
- Genesis 19:11 And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.
- Matthew 15:14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”
- Matthew 8:12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
13. Light is both visible and invisible (gamma rays, x-rays, etc). Jesus is the visible manifestation of the invisible God.
- Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
- Ephesians 5:13 NIV But everything exposed by the light becomes visible – and everything that is illuminated becomes a light.
- Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, (Jesus is the visible manifestation of the invisible Godhead.)
14. Light frequencies determine the nature of Light and its comparisons with the Godhead.
- The visible spectrum is color, a rainbow. Jesus is the visible manifestation of an invisible God and is associated with the Rainbow in scripture.
