Daniel 8
Note: Daniel resumes writing in Hebrew (from Aramaic) in Dan. 8:1.
Vision of a Ram and a Goat
Daniel 8:1 In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar (Immediately prior to Belshazzar’s party and demise)
- Belshazzar was monarch of Babylonia for two years, being killed at the beginning of the third year on the fatal night of the fall of Babylon (Meg. 11b).
http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/2846-belshazzar
This vision occurred immediately before Belshazzar’s feast in Daniel chapter Five
a vision appeared to me—to me, Daniel—after the one that appeared to me the first time.
- The vision of the four beasts from Daniel chapter 7. Both visions are in regard to gentile kingdoms who will rule over the Jews.
Daniel 8:2 I saw in the vision, and it so happened while I was looking, that I was in Shushan (Or Susa), the citadel (Or fortified palace), which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in the vision that I was by the River Ulai.
Daniel 8:3 Then I lifted my eyes and saw, and there, standing beside the river, was a ram which had two horns, and the two horns were high (long); but one was higher (longer) than the other, and the higher (longer) one came up last (later).

- The Ram with two horns (powers) is the Medes and Persians. (Cyrus II, a Persian who conquered Astyages the ruler of the Medes )
Daniel 8:4 I saw the ram pushing (warring, charging) westward, northward, and southward, so that no animal (kingdom) could withstand (Lit. stand before him) him; nor was there any that could deliver from his hand, but he did according to his will and became great.
- Not toward the east because the Medes and Persians are from the east.
- From Cyrus’ lineage will come a Persian king Darius III who will be conquered Alexander the Greek, who is symbolized by a goat.
Daniel 8:5 And as I was considering, suddenly a male goat came from the west, across the surface of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

Daniel 8:6 Then he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing beside the river, and ran at him with furious power.
Daniel 8:7 And I saw him confronting the ram; he was moved with rage against him,
- Alexander came with revenge in his heart because of all the Persian attacks on Greece.
(the goat, Alexander the Great) attacked (Lit. struck) the ram (Darius III), and broke his two horns. There was no power in the ram to withstand him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled him; and there was no one that could deliver the ram from his hand.
- Darius III, the king of the Persians, ran from battle. Alexander’s men found him wounded, hiding in an ox-cart in Afghanistan. He had been stabbed by one of his own kinsmen who had visions of declaring himself king of Persia. When Darius III was found by Alexander’s men he stated he was glad he would not die alone. Alexander gave him a royal funeral and married his daughter. Darius’ mother never forgave her son from abandoning his family and took Alexander as her own son. When Alexander died, she turned her face to the wall, refused food and water, and died grieving.
Daniel 8:8 Therefore the male goat (Alexander the Great) grew very great;
- Alexander’s territories ranged from Greece all the way to India including Africa.
but when he became strong, the (one) large horn was broken,
- According to a Babylonian astronomical diary, Alexander died between the evening of June 10 and the evening of June 11, 323 BC. This happened in the palace of Nebuchadnezzar II in Babylon. Alexander was 33 years old and died at the height of his power.
and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.

- ►The four notable horns are Alexander’s generals at his death who formed a coalition against Antigonus’ attempt to crown his son Demitrius..
- Ptolemy took Egypt, Seleucus took Syria, Laysimachus took Thrace, and Cassander took Macedonia marrying Alexander’s half sister.
- ►The four winds of heaven:
- The four winds of heaven represent the spiritual realm whereas the four winds of earth in Revelation 7:1 represent the physical realm.
- The four winds mean “everywhere”; north, south, east and west.
- Wind is an indicator of change, especially a change of powers.
- These are the “powers of the air” or “spiritual forces of evil” of which the apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:12:
- For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
- Ezekiel 37:9 “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, “This is what the Sovereign LORD says: ‘Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”
Daniel 8:9 And out of one of them (the four notable horns) came a little horn which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land.
- ►The “little horn” is prophetic of the coming Antichrist who will rule during the seven year tribulation, which is Daniel’s 70th week. (Daniel Chapter Nine)
- He will grow exceedingly great toward Egypt, Syria, and Jerusalem. He will grow great in the Mideast.
- He begins as a little horn but becomes a global leader, and when he is indwelt by Satan he becomes a beast in the sea of people, a sea monster, which is the Leviathan ruling in Jerusalem during the seven year tribulation.
- ►The Antichrist will come from one of the four notable horns. He grows great toward Egypt and Syria which limits the horns to two options: either the lineage of Ptolemy or the lineage of Seleucus.
- In Daniel chapter 11, Antiochus Ephiphemes IV was Syrian, the descendant of one of Alexander the Great’s Greek general Seleucius. He is the foreshadow of the Antichrist to come.
- Therefore; it is easily concluded that the Antichrist will be Syrian.
- A prophetic verse from Micah about these latter times:
- And this One (Jesus) shall be peace. (Judgment on Israel’s Enemies) When the Assyrian comes into our land, and when he treads in our palaces, then we will raise against him Seven shepherds and eight princely men. Micah 5:5
- ►Every event by Antiochus IV will be repeated during the tribulation. Antiochus fulfilled everything in Daniel’s visions, and yet Jesus spoke of the fact that there will be another abomination of desolation to come, and John, in Revelation specifies it will happen in the middle of the seven year tribulation.
- ►Not only is there scriptural evidence of the Antichrist being Syrian (of Antiochus IV’s stock) but Amalekite as well. Amalek is a son of Esau’s first-born son Eliphaz and of his concubine Timna. The Battle of Gog and Magog is set to occur during the seven year tribulation. The name “Gog” is also known as “Agag” who was the king of the Amalekites. The Septuagint in Hosea declares that Gog is the king of the locusts in Revelation. It appears Ezekiel 38:17 is declaring that Gog is the Antichrist.
- Ezekiel 38:17 “Thus says the Lord God: ‘Are you he (Gog) of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied for years in those days that I would bring you against them?’”
- Haman was a descendant of Amalek. If King Saul had killed Amalek as God had instructed, there would never have been Hamen who wanted to exterminate the Jews.
- Therefore; I surmise the Antichrist is both Syrian and a descendant of Esau (Edom) Amalekite.
- Who are the Syrians?
- I Chron 18:12 and 2 Sam 8:13 calls Edomites (of Esau) Syrians.
- Therefore: both are descendants of Esau. (Called Edom because of red clay: hence are associated with miry, or potter’s clay.)
Daniel 8:10 And it (the “little horn” Antichrist indwelt by Satan) grew up (grew in power) to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground, and trampled them.
- Jesus declared He saw Satan falling to the earth (thrown out of heaven).
- Luke 10:18 And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning (barak) from (O’) heaven (bama).
- Yet Rev 12:7 says Satan is thrown out of heaven.
- Revelation 12:7 Satan Thrown Out of Heaven – And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
- Therefore; Jesus must have seen the future of Satan when He made that pronouncement.
- With this reasoning, Isaiah also saw the future when he described how Satan was going to set his throne in the heavens (through the Antichrist).
- Isaiah 14:13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation (the temple) on the farthest sides of the north;
- This concept fits perfectly with this portion of scripture when the Antichrist attacks Jerusalem and removes the daily sacrifices.
- The” host of heaven” are the Jews, and the “stars” are gentiles, both will believe and accept that Jesus is the Son of God, and the Jewish Messiah.
- This satanic Antichrist pulls them down, and tramples (persecutes) them.
Daniel 8:11 He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary (temple) was cast down.
- ►Everything in and around the Holy of Holies is about Jesus. The Ark of the Covenant has the mercy seat where the blood is applied and represents the bed of Jesus in His tomb with two cherubs at the head and at the foot.
- When the Antichrist declares that he is god in the Holy of Holies he places himself as high as the Prince of the host.
- ►The Prince of the host is Jesus who is the Prince of the Father. He is referred to in scripture as the “Right Arm”; a term used for the first born son of a king and rightful heir to the throne, the prince.
- ►The Antichrist enters the Holy of Holies and declares that he is god (in the place of Jesus)
- ► Jesus spoke of this event:
- Matthew 24:15 [The Great Tribulation] “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand),
- Mark 13:14 [The Great Tribulation] “So when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not” (let the reader understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains,
- ►Antiochus IV fulfilled Daniel’s prophecy but there is another to come because Jesus referred to this event in the future of Jesus’ time. This is why Antiochus IV is the “foreshadow” of the Antichrist.
Daniel 8:12 Because of transgression (sin), an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered.
- In these things, scripture refers to both Antiochus and the coming Antichrist.
- An army is given to him: perhaps the ten kings.
Daniel 8:13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain one who was speaking, “How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot?”
Daniel 8:14 And he said to me, “For two thousand three hundred days (Lit. evening-mornings); then (plus) the sanctuary shall be cleansed.”
- (Daniel 12:11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation (the desecration that makes desolate) is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days)
- (Daniel 12:12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. Hanukah is the celebration of the cleansing and re-dedication of the temple after Antiochus IV defiled it. )
- There are 1,260 days from the desecration of desolation when the Antichrist begins his 3-1/2 year reign in Jerusalem. It is the day of the desecration of desolation; the day when the Antichrist stands in the holy of holies of the third temple and declares he is “god”.
- (Daniel 11:36 is the desecration that causes desolation.)
- Note from Carol Brooks:
http://www.inplainsite.org/html/seven_feasts_of_israel.html#FOI-06
“1,335 days is exactly 75 days more than the 1260 days (3-1/2 years) that the Antichrist will reign (in Jerusalem). So, if the Antichrist is destroyed on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur at Jesus’ return), then the extra 75 days lands us directly on the first day of Chanukah (Hanukah) in the future.”
- Hanukah is the day of the dedication of the second temple. The Hanukah in the future will be the day when the temple of the New Jerusalem, which comes out of heaven, is dedicated.
- There is no temple because Jesus is the temple. There is no light because Jesus is the Light.
Daniel’s Dates are tied to Jewish Feasts of the High Holy Days and Hanukah
Note: The above chart revealing the 1,334 days of Daniel 12:11 would appear to affirm that the Jewish Feasts are tied to the seven year tribulation, Daniel’s 70th week, and the book of Revelation.
This pattern is still only prophetic. A believer should be prepared for the rapture at any imminent moment simply because prophecy is prophecy until it happens, regardless of arguments one way or another.
One argument against this thinking is that nobody knows the day or the hour: Paul writes these two verses that are worth consideration:
1 Thessalonians 5:2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
1 Thessalonians 5:4
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.
Regardless, each person should be exhorted to live as though they will face their Lord in the blink of an eye (whether by rapture, death, or return)
Gabriel Interprets the Vision
Daniel 8:15 Then it happened, when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and was seeking the meaning, that suddenly there stood before me one having the appearance of a man.
Daniel 8:16 And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of the Ulai, who called, and said, “Gabriel, make this man understand the vision.”
Daniel 8:17 So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid and fell on my face; but he said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.”
Daniel 8:18 Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep with my face to the ground; but he touched me, and stood me upright.
Daniel 8:19 And he said, “Look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of the indignation; for at the appointed time the end shall be.
- The latter time begins with the coming seven year tribulation also called the time of indignation.
Daniel 8:20 The ram which you saw, having the two horns—they are the kings of Media and Persia.
- The Medes and Persians (Cyrus) is the second head on the seven headed dragon.
Daniel 8:21 And the male (shaggy male) goat is the kingdom (Lit. king, representing his kingdom, Dan. 7:17, 23) of Greece. The large horn that is between its eyes is the first king.
Alexander the Great
Daniel 8:22 As for the broken horn and the four that stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall arise out of that nation, but not with its power.
- The broken horn is Alexander the Great. The four horns are four of his generals who broke up his territory after his death. Two of those horns ruled over the Jews intermittently, Egypt (Ptolemy) and Syria (Seleucus). Those two “horns” became two of the heads on the seven headed dragon. Alexander (Greece) was the third head. Egypt and Syria are the forth and fifth heads.
Daniel 8:23 “And in the latter time of their kingdom (the seven year tribulation),
When the transgressors have reached their fullness,
A king shall arise,
Having fierce features (Lit. Countenance),
Who understands sinister schemes.
- The little horn, the Antichrist.
- The Antichrist cannot be Titus. Titus was part of the Roman Empire which is the 6th head on the dragon.
- The Antichrist is the 7th head on the dragon. The kingdoms who have and will rule over the Jews.
See: The Leviathan (sea monster, sea dragon, dragon) in the sea of people. Chapter 12 - Note: the ten horns are on the last head of the dragon (Satan). The Antichrist is the seventh head and the ten horns are ten kings who give their power to the Antichrist (beast) for a period of one hour. The ten horns, ten kings, are also the ten toes on Nebuchadnezzar’s statue.
Daniel 8:24 His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power;
- Not by his own power means he is indwelt by Satan and has been given Satan’s power.
He shall destroy fearfully (Or extraordinarily),
And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people.
- The holy people are the Jews. During the seven year tribulation, God is once again giving His entire focus on the Jews to bring them to Himself.
- The Age of Grace is over. Like Noah’s Ark, once the door closed (the rapture) it’s too late.
- Now the flood of destruction comes. They neglected so great a salvation: unlike those not destined for the day of wrath.
- They will now be delivered by an ark (meaning coffin) of death refusing to take the mark of the beast. Even as Jonah was in the belly of the Leviathan, and Jesus in Sheol, they must wait for three (and a half) days (years) to be vomited (resurrected) up on the shores of the millennium, a new life.
Daniel 8:25 “Through his cunning
He shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule (Lit. hand);
And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their prosperity.
He shall even rise against the Prince of princes (Jesus who is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords);
But he shall be broken without human means (Lit. hand).
- He raised (positioned) himself against the Prince of princes in the Holy of Holies (in the spiritual realm) but in three and a half years the Antichrist and his armies will meet Jesus and his armies at Armageddon. Literally or symbolically it will be after the pattern of Yom Kippur at Jesus’ return to earth, His second advent. (See chart below, last column YOM KIPPUR)

Note: The current alternative name for Yom Kippur is called “The Return” by the Jews.
See notes in verse 14 concerning “patterns” which may be symbolic or literal. It would appear the Patterns of the Jewish Feasts being linked to the tribulation lend credence to the above chart for the “Yomim Noraim” being the Seven Days/Years of Affliction. Many believe the Feast of Trumpets are for the New Year (which the New Year is celebrated on Feast of Trumpets but it seems to be an “odd ball out” being that all Spring Jewish feasts have been prophetically fulfilled by Jesus. This chart is part of the Autumn Jewish feasts.
Daniel 8:26 “And the vision of the evenings and mornings
Which was told is true;
Therefore seal up the vision,
For it refers to many days in the future.”
Daniel 8:27 And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days; afterward I arose and went about the king’s business. I was astonished (amazed) by the vision, but no one understood it.
- We are living in perhaps the greatest days of men on the earth when all things are to be understood and consummated.
- Prophecies are being fulfilled at an alarming rate: like popcorn in a microwave. The kernels start slow, a pop here and a pop there. Then they become faster and faster until the popping crescendos.
- Prophecy One: The biggest prophecy concerning the end of time is the reestablishment of the Jewish nation: Fulfilled May 15, 1948.
- ►Signs of the Times:
- Matthew 24:32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree (Israel): When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. The fig tree is symbolic of the nation Israel. Its roots are Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The tender leaves are the Jews returning to their homeland.
- Hosea 9:10a I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the first fruits on the fig tree in its first season.
- Jeremiah 24:2-3 One basket had very good figs, like the figs that are first ripe; and the other basket had very bad figs which could not be eaten, they were so bad. Then the LORD said to me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” And I said, “Figs, the good figs, very good; and the bad, very bad, which cannot be eaten, they are so bad.”
- Good Figs: Jeremiah 24:4b-7 ‘Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge those who are carried away captive from Judah, whom I have sent out of this place for their own good, into the land of the Chaldeans. For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up. Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.
- Bad Figs: Jeremiah 24:8-9 And as the bad figs which cannot be eaten, they are so bad’—surely thus says the LORD—‘so will I give up Zedekiah the king of Judah, his princes, the residue of Jerusalem who remain in this land, and those who dwell in the land of Egypt. 9 I will deliver them to trouble into all the kingdoms of the earth, for their harm, to be a reproach and a byword, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them.
- Matthew 24:33-34 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it (Or: He) is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation (race: the Jews) will by no means pass away till all these things take place.

- The Fig Tree: Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? Isaiah 66:8a NKJV
- But Jerusalem will give birth to her children just as soon as she feels the birth pains. Isaiah 66:8b NCV
- ►The confirmation by the Gospel of Peter:
- According to the Apocalypse of Peter (Ethiopic edition) (a non-canonical manuscript from approximately 120 AD) The writing is an early Christian commentary on Jesus’ famous prophecy given to His disciples on the Mount of Olives regarding the signs of His return in the last days… It documents the understanding of the early post-apostolic Church that the fig tree was understood by the Jewish Christians to be a clear prophecy of the rebirth of the nation Israel in the last days prior to Christ’s return.
In this edition, the disciple Peter is being quoted “Hast thou not grasped that the fig-tree is the house of Israel?”

- ►The Valley of Dry Bones:
- Ezekiel 37:11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’”
- Prior to the Balfour Declaration 1917 and Israel becoming a nation on May 15, 1948, Israel had been under Gentile domination since God prophesied to Jeremiah that the Hebrew Children would be dispersed among the nations and that Israel would become a desolate area. That was 586 BC when Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon captured Jerusalem.
- That means the nation of Israel had been “dead” for 2,534 years. Yes indeed. The bones were very dry!
- Miraculously, the land itself was empty and desolate because of earthquakes, mosquitoes, bad land management by the Turks, and God.
- “And I shall make the land desolate and your enemies that dwell in it shall dwell in desolation.” (Vayikra 26:32)
- “In this Torah passage, warning the People of Israel about the exile from Eretz Yisrael if they turn away from observance of the Torah, there is a note of comfort, say our sages. Our land will never accept our enemies. This is an extraordinary promise, because you will not find anywhere in the world a land so good and bountiful which was once so developed and is so in ruins. For ever since we left it the land has accepted no other nation, although so many have unsuccessfully tried to settle it. `Ramban, Commentary on the Torah”
http://ohr.edu/tw/weinbach/loveland/lland036.htm
- Can these bones live? Not under any circumstances except divine circumstances! Today, in 2020 AD, you will not find Hittites, Edomites, Philistines, Jebusites, or any other nation that has passed from the annuals of history, except the Israelites! Even their language was resurrected from the dead! Hebrew is the ONLY dead language that has been resurrected, and in fact, a Hebrew speaking Jew today would be able to converse with a Jew from 586 BC just as though they were peers and they would understand each other completely.
The Israelites should have disappeared 2,000 years ago!
- If a believer were to be asked “Why do you believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God” the answer is easy: The Jews! They should have disappeared thousands of years ago.
- The byword became “A land with no people is for a people with no land”.
- Prophecy Two: The Desert Will Blossom:

- The land, prior to the Balfour Declaration had no national identity. The subject of inhabitants is currently hotly debated over ownership of the land. During the Great Awakening, Jews bought land at exorbitant prices from absentee Moslem landowners. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absentee_landlord

Lunapark Tel-Aviv – Once more fields will be bought in this land of which you say, ‘It is a desolate waste, without people or animals…’ Fields will be bought for silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed and witnessed in the territory of Benjamin, in the villages around Jerusalem, in the towns of Judah and in the towns of the hill country, of the western foothills and of the Negev, because I will restore their fortunes, declares the LORD.” Jer. 32:43,44 NIV
The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose…For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. Isaiah 35:1, 6b NKJV
- Prophecy Three: The Drying Up of the Euphrates River. When Egypt built the Answan Dam the Euphrates began drying up. Now, it is a mud bed.
- Prophecy Four: The Eastern Gate will remain closed until the Messiah returns. At Christ’s Second Coming, He will enter Jerusalem through the now sealed Eastern Gate (Ezekiel 44:1-3). Today, as prophesied, the Eastern Gate remains sealed.
- Prophecy Five: The Hebrew language will be restored (Zephaniah 3:9). At the end of the 19th century the Zionist movement brought about the revival of Hebrew as a spoken language. In 1948, Hebrew became the official tongue of the state of Israel. Remarkable! Never before in human history has a dead language been brought back to life after thousands of years.
- Prophecy Six: Speed and Knowledge will Increase: Man is in outer space (speed). Man is in hyper space (the Internet). Daniel 12
- Prophecy Seven:The Good News Being Preached to All the Earth: The gospel is being preached to every corner of the world by satellite: to cell phones, televisions, radios, and computers. An illustration of what this means was the picture of a hay wagon made with large, round, solid wood wheels being pulled by a horse. A Chinese peasant sitts on it holding the reigns of the horse in one hand and with the other hand is talking on a cell phone.
- Prophecy Eight: Natural Disasters: “It is no secret that the frequency and impact of natural disasters are on the rise worldwide. Earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, forest fires, tornados, ice storms and severe rain storms are happening more often than ever before, and costing us more dearly.” These are not the words of a religious fanatic, these are the words of an insurance agency. See http://www.ibc.ca/en/Natural_Disasters/
- Prophecy Nine: Jerusalem will be a burdensome stone to all nations (Zechariah 12:3): Almost daily the world reports news on the conflict over Jerusalem. The United Nations, the Vatican, and many world leaders want to make it an international city. God says, however, that the city is His and He has given it to the Jews. (Genesis 15:18; Leviticus 25:23; 2 Chronicles 6:6). All who burden themselves with it will be cut in pieces.
- Prophecy Ten: Israel will be invincible (Zechariah 12:6-9). Since 1948, tiny Israel has been attacked in three major wars and six lesser wars, yet despite being vastly outnumbered, they have defeated all attacking foes. Even when it looks like Israel will be destroyed during the final battle, the Lord shall deliver her. (Jeremiah 30:3-7; Zechariah 14; Mark 13:14-20). An invincible Israel makes no sense unless you believe God’s Word.
- Prophecy Eleven: Israel will be partitioned by all nations (Joel 3:2; Daniel 11:39). This is another unimaginable prophecy! In 1947, United Nations Resolution 181 planned the partitioning of Israel. Currently, the West Bank, the Golan Heights, and Gaza, have been divided into Jewish and Palestinian settlements.
- Prophecy Twelve: The enemies of Jerusalem! All surrounding nations will be united against Israel (Psalm 83:4-8; Zechariah 12:2). This has never happened in history. Yet today, Israel is surrounded by Muslim nations sworn to her destruction. Muhammad said: The Hour (last day) will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say ‘O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him.’” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, vol. 4, b. 52, Hadith # 177).
“If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence. If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel”-Benjamin Netanyahu
- Prophecy Thirteen: The Jewish People. DNA tests have demonstrated substantially less inter-marriage in most of the various Jewish ethnic divisions over the last 3,000 years than in other populations. The findings lend support to traditional Jewish accounts accrediting their founding to exiled Israelite populations. There is still a separate “Jewish People”.
- Prophecy Fourteen: Birds of prey will eat the dead flesh of the enemy armies that fall in battle against Israel (Ezekiel 39:4, 17; Revelation 19:17-21). It is a little known fact that Israel is the bird migration capital of the world. During the spring and fall migrations, billions of birds fly over Israel. Many of these migratory birds are raptors, carrion (dead flesh) eating birds of prey. In fact, 34 species of raptors migrate over Israel. Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God: That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. (Revelation 19:17-18)
- Prophecy Fifteen: The Image of the Beast: British scientists have concluded that in about 30 years, “it will be possible to capture data presenting all of a human being’s sensory experiences on a single tiny chip implanted in the brain.” This data would be collected by biological probes receiving electrical impulses and would enable a user to recreate experiences, or even to transplant memory chips from one brain to another. Combined with cloning technologies and given the possibility of continually recording and editing our lives, novel meanings of the self would be generated. http://www.lahey.org/NewsPubs/Publications/Ethics/JournalWinter2001/Journal_Winter2001_Feature.asp
- The Beast is the Antichrist of the seven year tribulation.
