The Fall of Jerusalem : Babylon the Great
- When Jesus returns his foot will touch Mt. Olives by Jerusalem where Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane.
- How do we know this? When Jesus ascended, He ascended into heaven when an angel appeared, saying,
- Acts 1:11-12 “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” 12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey.
- Zechariah 14:4 And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.
- Jesus will fight His battle with the Antichrist, chasing him from Jerusalem to Megiddo.
- Isaiah 27:1 (Israel Will Be Restored) In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in the sea (of people).
- The Leviathan is the Antichrist indwelt by Satan.
- Satan is described as a sea monster which lives in the sea of people, a snake, a dragon, a crocodile and a beast … always a reptile.
- Revelation 20:2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;
Revelation 18:1 After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory.
Revelation 18:2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon (Jerusalem) the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!
- Babylon is used symbolically. Babylon is Jerusalem who has been taken over by the Antichrist who is ruling there as a world ruler.
- The unclean birds are vultures, predators eating the flesh of men who are spiritually dead.
- Jeremiah 5:27 As a cage is full of birds, So their houses are full of deceit. Therefore they have become great and grown rich.
Revelation 18:3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance (Lit. strengths) of her luxury.”
Revelation 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest (before) you receive of her plagues.
- God is calling the Jews to get out of the propaganda and the city of Jerusalem at the beginning of the Tribulation. God is about to rain down on Jerusalem with the bowls of the plagues.

Revelation 18:5 For her sins (have been heaped up) have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
Revelation 18:6 Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.
Revelation 18:7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived (sensually) luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’
Revelation 18:8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges [has judged] her.
- Zechariah 14:12 And this shall be the plague with which the Lord will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths. (Nuclear War)
The World Mourns Babylon’s Fall
Revelation 18:9 “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning,
- The Antichrist is ruling from Jerusalem as a world ruler and Jerusalem is the center of economics for the world. When Babylon falls, the grid of economics have failed.

- The Encyclopedia Britannica (1943 Ed., Vol. 3, “History of Banks,” p. 67) notes that the Babylonians had developed a banking system “as early as 2000 BC.” The same article notes that the banking system began as an invention of the sun-god temples, and it states: “the temples of Babylon…were also the banks.” This Britannica article cites a document from that period which mentions a person who had borrowed silver and that: “He will pay the sun-god’s interest. At the time of the harvest he will pay back the sum and the interest upon it.” Farmers were even then borrowing money from banks to plant their crops.
- The same article states that “about 575 BC,” there was “…an institution that has been compared to the Rothschilds of 19th century Europe—the Igibi Bank of Babylon…the records of this bank show that it …loaned on crops, attaching them in advance…loaned on signatures and on objects deposited, and received deposits on which it paid interest.” We see in this account that modern banking practices had their origins with the sun-god temples of ancient Babylon in Mesopotamia. The description of Babylonian banking practices in the 6th century BC gives us an insight into Babylonian banking practices in previous centuries as well.
- Gwendolyn Leick’s book, The Babylonians, pp. 88-89 states that typical Babylonian interest rates were “20-33%,” and adds the following about Babylonian business practices: “…they would squeeze from the primary producers as much return as possible…such ‘capitalist’ practices contributed…to the impoverishment of the farming population. More and more (producers) lost control over their means of production by having to sell their fields, boats, livestock and…enter into a serf-like dependency on their creditors.” Leick adds that these money lending practices were “intimately linked to…temple institutions.”

- Babylon preyed on the souls of men by capitalizing on men’s weaknesses. Their temples were houses of prostitution, banks, and idolatry.
- The Antichrist turns the holy city, Jerusalem, into a Babylon, known for globalism, idolatry (false religions), prostitution, and the invention of interest rates.
Revelation 18:10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city (Jerusalem) Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’
Revelation 18:11 “And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore:
Revelation 18:12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;
Revelation 18:13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.
Revelation 18:14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you (been lost to you), and you shall find them no more at all.
Revelation 18:15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
Revelation 18:16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!
- Revelation 17:4 The woman (the harlot that rides the beast: the city of Jerusalem.) was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.
Revelation 18:17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing (have been laid waste).’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance
Revelation 18:18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’
Revelation 18:19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate (have been laid waste).’
Revelation 18:20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets (saints and apostles), for God has avenged you (apostles and prophets) on her (Jerusalem)!”
Finality of Babylon’s Fall
Revelation 18:21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone (Satan) and threw it into the sea (of people), saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon (Jerusalem) shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore.
- The Financial Grid has fallen.
- The Great Millstone is symbolic of Satan being thrown into the sea of people in Jerusalem by a mighty angel. His days in Jerusalem have come to an end. Only Jesus can hook that sea monster, the Leviathan, and pull him out of the waters of people.
- Job 1:1 “Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower?
Job 41:8 Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle—Never do it again!

- The Babylonian Jerusalem will be replaced by the New Jerusalem from Heaven.
- Satan’s heart is compared to a millstone.
- Job 41 says Satan’s heart is as hard as a millstone.
- Job 41:24, 34 His heart is as hard as stone, even as hard as the lower millstone. He beholds every high thing; he is king over all the children of pride.”

- Satan rolled over, grinding Jesus’ soul in Gethsemane causing Him to sweat great drops of blood when He poured out His soul even unto death. Gethsemane is an olive orchard with several olive presses.
- Isaiah 53:12 Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death (olive press), and He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
- Luke 22:44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
- Job 41 says Satan’s heart is as hard as a millstone.
Revelation 18:22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore.
- Music creates joy. But there is no joy. There is no reason for a craftsman to work, there is no way to sell his goods, there is no wheat, barley, hay, etc to sell because there is no one to buy it.
- And a double meaning would be that the cacophony (noise) of Satan’s sorcery is now finally halted.
Revelation 18:23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your (the Antichrist indwelt by Satan) sorcery all the nations were deceived.
- Satan’s deceit has always had influence over the nations of the world, but now, this is the culmination of his destruction. The voice of the bridegroom is Jesus. The bride is God’s espoused Jewish wife of the Old Testament waiting for the wedding banquet that will consummate God’s relationship with the Jews and His promises. The culmination is Daniel’s 70th week of the Book of Daniel.
