{8} Topic: The Times of Jerusalem – on Jerusalem

The literal meaning of Jerusalem is “Teaching of Peace”. It has been spelled many ways throughout history;

According to the Jewish Midrash, “Jerusalem has 70 names”. Lists have been compiled of 72 different Hebrew names for Jerusalem.

The Merneptah Stele, dated to about 1206 BC and now housed at the Cairo Museum, offers the earliest historical evidence of a people called Israel. Israel did not waste her seed. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/ancient/archeology-hebrew-bible.html

Jerusalem was bought by King David from Ornan the Jebusite when it was a threshing floor where wheat would be thrown into the air to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Isaiah 21:10 Oh, my threshing and the grain of my floor!
That which I have heard from the Lord of hosts,
The God of Israel,
I have declared to you.

A Threshing Floor is the Place of Tribulation. The words “threshing” and “tribulation” are interchangeable. The purpose of the seven year Tribulation is to bring every last Jew to the knowledge that Jesus was, is, and forever will be their Messiah.
