1. Predicting the Coming of the Jewish Messiah: Fulfilled

• He will be born in Bethlehem: (Micah 5:2) (Matthew 2:1,6)
• He will be born to a virgin:
  “Therefore the LORD Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel (God is with us).” (Isaiah 7:14) (Matthew 1:25)
• He will be worshiped by shepherds: (Psalm 72:9)
• He will be honored by great kings: (Psalm 72:10, 15)
• There will be a slaughter of innocent children: (Jeremiah 31:15)
• There will be a flight to Egypt: (Hosea 11:1)
• He is preceded by a forerunner: (Malachi 3:1)
• He will speak in parables: (Psalm 78:2-4)
• The temple will become a house of merchandise instead of prayer. (Jeremiah 7:11)
• The blind, deaf, and lame will be healed: (Isaiah 29:18) (Isaiah 35:5-6)
• He will ride into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey: (Zechariah 9:9)
• He will be meek and mild and silent to accusations: (Isaiah 53:7)
• He will be rejected by his own people, the Jews: (Isaiah 53:3)
• (Isaiah 8:14) (Isaiah 28:16). (Psalm 118:22)
• He will be betrayed by a close friend: (Psalm 41:9) (Psalm 55:12-13) (Zechariah 13:6)
• He will be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver: (Zechariah 11:12) (Matthew 26:15,49)
• He will have His clothing divided at the Cross: (Psalm 22:18) (John 19:24)
• He would be wounded for our sins: (Isaiah 53:5) (I Peter 2:24)
• The betrayal money will be used to buy Potter’s field: (Zechariah 11:13)
• His Death would be for others: (Daniel 9:26) (II Corinthians 5:21)
• He will be raised from the dead: (Psalm 16:10) (Luke 24:6)

2. Predicting the Second Coming of the Jewish Messiah who is also the Bridegroom of the Bride of Christ. Unfulfilled

a) THE PREPARATION

• Leviticus 21:10 “The priest who is ranked highest among his brothers, the one on whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who is consecrated to put on the garments … is NOT to tear his clothes.”
  
  • Note: When the High Priest tore his robe at Jesus’ trial, he disqualified himself from being God’s High Priest (Matthew 26:65). Jesus became the believers High Priest (Hebrews 3:1).
    
• Matthew 24:32  “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it [or He] is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
  
  • Note: The Fig tree is the whole house of Israel. The tender leaves are the Jews returning to Israel. Tenderness is but a bud on the tree, spring – a beginning. However, when the buds are in full bloom it is hot, summer.

• Luke 12:35 “Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; 36 and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks (Rev 3:20) they may open to him immediately. 37 Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.
  
  • Note: A wedding has taken place in heaven with Jesus and His Bride of Christ who had been raptured just before the seven year tribulation. (See Jacob’s Two Wives)
    
• Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
  
• Amos 5:18 Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord! For what good is the day of the Lord to you? It will be darkness, and not light.
  
• Zephaniah 1:15 That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress, A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness,
  
• Isaiah 46:13 I bring My righteousness near, it shall not be far off; My salvation shall not linger. And I will place salvation in Zion, For Israel My glory.
  

b) THE REMNANT RECOGNIZE THEIR MESSIAH

• Zechariah 12:10-11 I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. 11 In that day there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.
  
• Hosea 5:15 I will return again to My place (His ascension) Till they acknowledge their offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me.”
  
• Psalm 38:18 For I will declare my iniquity; I will be in anguish over my sin.
  
• Hosea 14:2 Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.
  
• Jeremiah 29:¹¹ For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. ¹² Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. ¹³ And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

c) THE STONE THAT GREW INTO A KINGDOM

• Psalm 74:14 You broke the heads (kingdoms who ruled over the Jews) of Leviathan (Satan/Antichrist) in pieces, And gave him as food (the spoils) to the people (the Jewish remnant) inhabiting the wilderness (of people).
  
• Isaiah 34:2 For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter.

d) THE DESCENT

• Matthew 24:30 “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

• Mark 13:26 “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
  

e) COMES WITH A HOST AND LANDS ON MOUNT OLIVES

• Jude 1:14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
  
• Zechariah 14:4 And in that day His feet will stand (ie “Land) on the Mount of Olives, Which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, From east to west, Making a very large valley; Half of the mountain shall move toward the north And half of it toward the south.
  
  • Acts 1:11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”… ¹² Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet (Mt. Olives).
    
• Zechariah 13:5 Thus the Lord my God will come, And all the saints with You.
  
• Matthew 26:64-65 Jesus said to him, “These words are your own. But I tell you that one day you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of God, and coming on the clouds of heaven.” 

f) EARTHQUAKE, HAIL, NOISES, THUNDERINGS

• Ezekiel 38:20 so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’
  
• Isaiah 29:6 the Lord Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with windstorm and tempest and flames of a devouring fire.
  
• Isaiah 30:30 The Lord will cause His glorious voice to be heard, And show the Descent of His arm, With the indignation of His anger And the flame of a devouring fire, With scattering, tempest, and hailstones.
  
• Revelation 8:5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.
  
• Revelation 11:19 Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail.
  
• Revelation 16:18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth.

g) ARMAGEDDON

• Ezekiel 38:18 “And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face. 19 For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, 20 so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence (The return of Christ). The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’ 21 I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. 23 Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”’
  
• Isaiah 13:4 The noise of a multitude in the mountains, Like that of many people! A tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together! The Lord of hosts musters The army for battle.
  
• Zechariah 10:3 “My anger is kindled against the shepherds, And I will punish the goatherds. For the Lord of hosts will visit His flock, The house of Judah, And will make them as His royal horse in the battle.
  
• Malachi 4:1 [The Great Day of God] “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the Lord of hosts, “That will leave them neither root (ancestor) nor branch (descendants).

h) CHASE AND FLEE AT ARMAGEDDON

• Psalms 35:5 Let them be like chaff before the wind (The threshing, the tribulation), And let the angel of the Lord chase them.
  
• Isaiah 17:13 The nations will rush like the rushing of many waters; But God will rebuke them and they will flee far away, And be chased like the chaff of the mountains before the wind, Like a rolling thing before the whirlwind.
  
• Isaiah 27:1 Israel Will Be Restored
  In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan (Satan) that twisted serpent; And He will slay the reptile that is in the sea (of people).
  
• Zechariah 14: ⁵ Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee As you fled from the earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.

i) THE REACTION OF THE REBELLIOUS

• Isa 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?
  
• Hosea 10:8 Also the high places of Aven, the sin of Israel, Shall be destroyed. The thorn H6975 (sym curse) and thistle shall grow on their altars; They shall say to the mountains, “Cover us!” And to the hills, “Fall on us!”
  
• Rev 6:15 ¹⁵ Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. ¹⁶ They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! ¹⁷ For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

j) JESUS TAKES THE REINS AND REIGNS IN JERUSALEM AS THE RAIN FROM HEAVEN (LIT: TEACHER MESSIAH) FROM ABOVE

• Isaiah 24:23 Then the moon will be disgraced And the sun ashamed; For the Lord of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem And before His elders, gloriously.
  
• Matthew 25:31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
