Words in italic type have been added for clarity. They are not found in the original Hebrew or Aramaic.
What should I learn from this chapter?
- Numbers 3, 7, and 40 are supernatural numbers.
- 7 clean animals vs 2 unclean animals
- 6 and 60 and 600 = The mark of the beast (Antichrist) 666
- 8 is a “New Beginning”
Genesis 7
The Great Flood
Genesis 7:1 Then the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ) said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.
Genesis 7:2 You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal, a male and his female; two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female;
- Note: In this verse the number seven is associated with being “clean”. Seven is associated with perfection, and perfection excludes anything that is unclean. Unclean animals were not to be eaten.
Genesis 7:3 also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep the species (Lit. seed) alive on the face of all the earth.
Genesis 7:4 For after seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and I will destroy (Lit. blot out) from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.”
- The meaning of the number 40: Time for a Change.
- Forty “Days” and Forty “Nights”. The use of both days and nights cements the seriousness of a sacred and supernatural event:
- Exodus 34:28 So he (Moses) was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. (40 = Time for a Change)
- I Kings 19:8 So he (Elijah) arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God. (He was running from Jezebel.) (40 = Time for a Change)
- Matthew 4:2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. (40 = Time for a Change)
- I Samuel 30:12 And they gave him (Egyptian servant to Amalakites whom King David was fighting) a piece of a cake of figs and two clusters of raisins. So when he had eaten, his strength came back to him; for he had eaten no bread nor drunk water for three days and three nights. (3 = Separated from sin and united in holiness)
- Esther 4:16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!” (3 = Separated from sin and united in holiness)
- Jonah 1:17 – Jonah’s Prayer and Deliverance – Now the Lord had prepared a sea monster to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the sea monster three days and three nights. (3 = Separated from sin and united in holiness)
- Matthew 12:40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (3 = Separated from sin and united in holiness)
- Job 2:13 So they (Job’s friends) sat down with him (Job) on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him (Job), for they saw that his grief was very great. (7 = Perfection/Perfected = A Covenant)
- A “Day and Night” event is limited to “3”, “7”, and “40” = Holy, Sacred Numbers. (The meaning of One and Three is the same: One God in Three Persons)

Genesis 7:5 And Noah did according to all that the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ) commanded him.
Genesis 7:6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters were on the earth.
► The meaning of the number 600
- Six is the number of man and man’s insecurity. It is one number short of seven, the perfect number of God. When man sinned he fell from a number seven to a number six. God is “One” Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!” One is the number of separation from sin and united in righteousness. The Godhead Trinity is holy which is being separated from sin. They are “One” in “character, purpose, and desire”.
- The number of man (6) plus the number of God (1) promotes man to God’s perfect number of completion and perfection (7). Someday, the faithful will be perfect, a number 7.
- Matthew 5:48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
- The emptiness of Pride (0 the number of vanity) inflates Six (6 the number of man) to Sixty (60) then inflates Sixty (60) to Six Hundred (600 the number of warfare). Mankind declared war on God in their unrighteousness before the flood.
- In the 600th year of Noah’s life, the rebellion of mankind was about to feel the consequences of God’s wrath.
- The ultimate puffed up number is the mark of the beast (the Antichrist) in Revelation: 600 and 60 and 6 or 666.
Genesis 7:7 So Noah, with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood.
Genesis 7:8 Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of birds, and of everything that creeps on the earth,
Genesis 7:9 two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as God (‘ĕlōhîm) had commanded Noah.
Genesis 7:10 And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the flood were on the earth.
- The time of waiting is “completed”.
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month (Iyar), the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
- Iyar 17 2344 BC Hebrew Date according to the first month being Nisan.

Genesis 7:12 And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.
- It’s time for a change, the number 40.
Genesis 7:13 On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark—
- A total of 8 people. 8 is the number for “A New Beginning”

Chinese civilization began soon after the Tower of Babel fiasco, the first Chinese settlers still had a fresh memory of mankind’s origins—from creation week to the dispersion of languages at Babel.
One such example is the Chinese word for “boat”. It is written with a combination of strokes meaning ‘eight people in a boat/vessel’.
A graduate student from communist China—raised on atheistic evolution…began to realize that his own language contained latent clues that the Bible’s early history was once well known to the Chinese people.“

Title: Genesis in Chinese Pictographs
- Boat=Vessel plus Eight plus Mouth (People)
- Flood = Together plus Earth plus Eight
- True Story: When this author discovered the above, she asked herself if there would be “a city of eight” giving insight into the location of Noah’s ark. Imagine my shock and surprise when I searched and found this:
“The village where the majority of the anchor stones are found is called Arzep or The Place of Eight.”

Genesis 7:14 they and every beast after its kind, all cattle after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every sort.
Genesis 7:15 And they went into the ark to Noah, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life.
Genesis 7:16 So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God (‘ĕlōhîm) had commanded him; and the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ) shut him in.
Genesis 7:17 Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.
- The meaning of the number forty: Time for a change.
Genesis 7:18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters.
Genesis 7:19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.
Genesis 7:20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.
- Twenty two and a half feet = fifteen cubits.
Genesis 7:21 And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth (the land), and every man.
Genesis 7:22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died.
Genesis 7:23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.
Genesis 7:24 And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.
- ►The meaning of the number 150: A combination of the number one hundred and the number fifty. Together they mean that God is turning the tables on Satan by getting more from less, such as planting a seed and getting a harvest.
