Psalm 53
What should I learn from this chapter?
- The difference between life and death.
- Fools believe there are no consequences for their actions.
Folly of the Godless, and the Restoration of Israel
To the Chief Musician. Set to “Mahalath.” A Contemplation (Heb. Maschil) of David.
Psalm 53:1 The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God (‘ĕlōhîm).”
They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity;
There is none who does good.
(This verse is identical to Psalm 14:1)
Life without God is simply waiting to die.
Life without God is simply already being dead.
Life without God is defined as a sexually transmitted terminal dis-ease.
Psalm 53:2 God (‘ĕlōhîm) looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God (‘ĕlōhîm).
- Since the fall of Adam, all men are nothing more than the walking dead grasping through the fog of emptiness; the blind leading the blind through a vague reality without substance, without boundaries, without meaning.
God gave the Jews an answer to all of the above: The Law has boundaries, the sacrifices give the metaphorical meaning for the healing of hearing, sight, and understanding through the promised Savior who offers eternal life.
When Jesus rose from the dead, life became available for all the walking dead. Eternal spiritual life begins the moment one believes. At that moment Satan can no longer keep the spiritually dead buried in their graveyard than he could keep Jesus buried in His grave. Satan loses all power over those who believe. He can not keep a believing dead man down because once a man becomes a believer he is immediately “hyperlinked” (sealed) in heaven.
- Ephesians 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
- Every believer currently sits in the heavens with Christ Jesus as co-heirs with Him. See: About the Quantum Study Bible.
- For every non-believer, they choose to remain buried and corrupt in their grave.
Psalm 53:3 Every one of them has turned aside;
They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
No, not one.
- “Corrupt” as a verb means to “rot”, as in a grave.
- “Corrupt as a noun means “rotted” and “dead”.
- A “Corrupt” man is like the “Walking Dead”.
Psalm 53:4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And do not call upon God (‘ĕlōhîm)?
Psalm 53:5 There they are in great fear
Where no fear was,
For God (‘ĕlōhîm) has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you;
You have put them to shame,
Because God (‘ĕlōhîm)has despised them.
Psalm 53:6 Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!

Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.
