POEM: The Serpent
Serpent coiled ’round Jesus’ head,
unhinged jaw, fiery fangs;
Split tongue flicking, tasting crowd’s desire,
Setting heaven and earth on fire.
Poisonous fangs striking poison’s death
Blood drips slowly on Jesus’ chest.
Oh Satan, ignorant and unaware,
swallowed Lamb’s blood that poisoned him,
slipped and fell at Jesus’ cross,
One last bite on Jesus’ heel.
Satan’s win … is Satan’s loss.
