Pop Up: Verses about the Rain with Notes

Home Page: Quantum Study Bible

From Revelation 22

  • Jeremiah 5:24 They do not say in their heart, “Let us now fear the Lord our God, Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season. He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest (resurrections).”
  • Hosea 6:3 Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come (down from the heavens) to us like the rain, like the latter and former rain to the earth. (The two resurrections are at the time of the harvest: Rosh Hashanah as the main harvest and Yom Kippur as the gleanings of the harvest.)
  • Jeremiah 17:13 O Lord, the hope of Israel, All who forsake you shall be ashamed.
“Those who depart from Me Shall be written in the earth, Because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.”
  • Joel 2:23 Be glad then, you children of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the former rain faithfully (the Messiah), And He will cause the rain to come down for you— The former rain, And the latter rain in the first resurrection. (Both are part of the first resurrection but each one in its own order)
  • Hosea 6:3 Let us know, Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord. His going forth is established as the morning; He will come to us like the rain, Like the latter and former rain to the earth.
  • Hosea 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.
  • Deuteronomy 11:14 then I will give you the rain for your land in its season, the early rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil. (For God, the “Rain” brings in God’s harvest)
  • James 5:7 [Be Patient and Persevering] Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.
  • Proverbs 16:15 In the light of the king’s face is life, and his favor is like a cloud of the latter rain. (Both literal and symbolic: the king is Jesus and in His face is life. He is the early and the latter Rain, He is the faithful Rain who comes down from heaven to create a harvest.)
  • Jeremiah 3:3 Therefore the showers have been withheld, and there has been no latter rain. You have had a harlot’s forehead; you refuse to be ashamed.
    • The harlot is Jerusalem. She is called Babylon for her idolatry, Sodom for her debauchery and Egypt for her worldliness during the time when the coming Antichrist reigns in Jerusalem as a global leader.
  • Deuteronomy 11:10-12 For the land which you go to possess (the promised land) is not like the land of Egypt from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and watered it by foot, as a vegetable garden; 11 but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, 12 a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning (Alpha) of the year to the very end (Omega) of the year.
    • The Promised Land for believers is heaven where the Rain, the Messiah, Jesus resides. We are not of the world (Egypt is symbolic of the world).
    • The meaning of the phrase “cross-over” is the word “Hebrew” which means to cross over (the waters of the river Jordan).
    • As believers, we “cross-over” from death to life.
    • John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.
