Micah 5

• The name Micah is a shortened form of Micaiah, which means “Who is like Yahweh?”
• In Jeremiah’s day the elders quoted Micah 3:12 in defense of Jeremiah’s message of judgment on the nation:
  • Jeremiah 26:¹⁸ “Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Zion shall be plowed like a field, Jerusalem shall become heaps of ruins, and the mountain of the temple – Like the bare hills of the forest (Literally: HIGH PLACES bāmâ H1116) .” ’ (Where idols were placed and worshiped.)

The Messiah Will Be Born at Bethlehem

Micah 5:¹ Now gather yourself in troops,
O daughter of troops;
He has laid siege against us;
They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek.

• The Judge of Israel is the Jewish Messiah, Jesus.

The Coming Messiah

Micah 5:² “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Though you are little among the thousands of Judah,
Yet out of you shall come forth to Me
The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old,
From everlasting (Lit. the days of eternity).”

• Jesus was born in Bethlehem. A prophecy of Micah becoming fulfilled history.

Micah 5:³ Therefore He shall give them up,

• “To “Give Over” or “Give Them Up” means God bows out to allow the person get what they want. When God is absent Satan moves in.

According to the Nuremberg Laws Article 4:

1. “Jews are forbidden to fly the Reich or national flag or display Reich colors.”
2. “They are, on the other hand, permitted to display the Jewish colors. The exercise of this right is protected by the state.”
   
   Personal Application: It is pure propaganda to make the world believe that Nazis are PROTECTING the rights of Jews.
   The wording gives a completely different view of reality. It is ONLY okay for them to display the “Jewish Colors” 1) to make a smooth transition from normal society into an abnormal society in-order-to “boil a frog” slowly so that it doesn’t feel the heat and jump out of the water, 2) to fool the world into thinking there is something okay with this dictum – as long as Jews have their rights too, and 3) from a Nazi perspective Jews can be identified, arrested, tortured, and mass murdered.

The condition for working with Hitler by the Grand Mufti is that the Muslims would have a free hand with the Jews. Hitler told him “The Jews are yours.”

Micah 5:³ (cont) Then the (Jewish) remnant of His (Jesus’) brethren shall return to the children of Israel.

• Historically, the Jews returned to Israel after the Holocaust. This will be repeated at the end of the Tribulation after the Jews ran for their lives to hide from the Antichrist, a type of Holocaust. Jesus will bring them back from all the nations (the wilderness) to the promised land, Israel. (Isaiah 11:12, Ezekiel 39:28, Revelation 12:6,14, Revelation 17:3)

The Land and the Jews

The Jews had slowly settled in Palestine even before the holocaust, purchasing worthless land before working it into a place fit for a promised land.

Micah 5:³b (Continued) Until the time that she (Israel) who is in labor (Holocaust/Tribulation) has given birth (as a nation);

• “As Israelis and Palestinians struggle with a twenty-first century peace process, the world must face the forgotten history that was so pivotal in determining the present crisis. In many ways, a turning point was the day Arabs massacred Jews because they dared to sit at the Wailing Wall while praying. This simple act of prayer was so unacceptable to Arabs that it helped launch a worldwide crisis of hate that provoked a global Islamic jihad, forged an Arab-Nazi alliance during the Holocaust, and still echoes today.” “Islam had been at war with the Jewish people since its defining inception in 627 A.D. when Mohammad exterminated the Jews of Mecca and launched the Islamic conquest that swept north and subsumed Syria-Palestina. For centuries, Jews and Christians in Arab lands were allowed to exist as dhimmis, second-class citizens with limited religious rights. These restrictions were enforced by the Turks who, until World War I, ruled the geographically undetermined region known as Palestine, which included Jerusalem.” “Jewish Palestine was still being settled by torrents of Eastern European refugees. The League of Nations Mandate for Palestine included the provision for a Jewish homeland. The Balfour Declaration, widely endorsed by many nations, was a matter of international law. But the Arabs in Palestine refused to co-exist with Jews in any way except as second-class dhimmis.” On August 15 1929, when Jews again marked the holiday Tisha B’av by sitting, and also chanted “the Wall is ours,” the Arabs began yet another in a series of bloody massacres. The massacres in several cities culminated in unspeakable atrocities at Hebron.

• August 23 and 24, 1929, Hebron became a bloody nightmare. House to house, Arab mobs went, bursting into every room looking for hidden Jews.  Religious books and scrolls were burned or torn to shreds.  The defenseless Jews were variously beheaded, castrated, their breasts and fingers sliced off, and in some cases their eyes plucked from their sockets.  Infant or adult, man or woman—it mattered not.  The carnage went on for hours, with the Arab policemen standing down—or joining in.  Blood ran in streamlets down the narrow stone staircases outside the buildings.  House to house, room by room, the savagery was repeated.

• One young boy, Yosef Lazarovski, later wrote of the horror: “I remember a brown-skinned Arab with a large mustache breaking through the door. He had a large knife and an axe that he swung through the doorjambs until he broke through. [He was] full of fury, screaming, ‘Allah Akbar!’ and ‘Itbach al Yahood!’ … My grandfather tried to hold my hand, then [he tried] to push me aside [and hide me], screaming, Shema Yisrael [the most solemn Jewish prayer] … and then I remember another Arab … with an axe that he brought down on my grandfather’s neck.”
• “Not a single victim was simply killed. Each was mutilated and tortured in accordance with their identities, the specific information provided by local Arabs. The Jewish man who lent money to Arabs was sliced open and the IOUs burned in his body. The Jewish baker’s head was tied to the stove and then baked. A Jewish scholar who had studied Koranic philosophy for years was seized, his cranium cut open, and his brain extracted. Another man was nailed to a door. Some sixty-seven Jews were brutally murdered.”

• After the holocaust, Zionism (favor for the Jewish people) bloomed in the United Kingdom. On May 15,1948 Israel becomes a nation born in one day (Isaiah 66:8): However, resentment and hatred had been deeply embedded in the Muslim community even before Hitler and the Grand Mufti with its foundation in Esau (Arabs) hatred for his twin brother, Jacob (Jews).

Since 1948 Jews from around the world and from every nation make their return to Israel with two exceptions: Those who are old and weak and those from the U.S. Both Israel and the U.S. have approximately 7.5 million Jews. Every other nation is almost empty of their Jewish population due to their return to Israel.

As a shadow and a type of the upcoming seven years of tribulation (which scripture calls “sorrows” or “labor”) the Jews will be “Given Up” once again; to a man worse than Hitler, which scripture calls “the Antichrist”. At the end of the tribulation Jesus returns with His saints and angels to “deliver” them (like a woman delivers a child). The nation will be preserved before their complete annihilation. The upcoming tribulation is called the Time of Sorrows as a woman in labor.

Israel was attacked on Oct 7,2023 at a Peace and Love concert with a Buddha high and lifted up on a support.

In previous wars since becoming a nation God protected them and gave them their victory. The attack from Oct 7,2023 was insidious – this time, they were celebrating with a “Buddha”.

The Jews have been warned consistently throughout history and throughout scripture against idol worship, called “harlotry”. The Jews are not shaking off their “Buddha”

The Millennium

Micah 5:⁴ And He (Jesus) shall stand and feed (shepherd) His flock
In the strength of the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ),
In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God (Yᵊhōvâ ‘ĕlōhîm);
And they shall abide,
For now He shall be great
To the ends of the earth;

Jesus sets up His Kingdom in Jerusalem during the Upcoming Millennium and the Nation will be Restored

Micah 5:⁵ And this One (Jesus) shall be peace.

And the land of Nimrod (Babylon) at its entrances;
Thus He (Jesus) shall deliver us from the Assyrian,
When he comes into our land
And when he treads within our borders.

Then the Millennium

Micah 5:⁷ Then the remnant of Jacob
Shall be in the midst of many peoples,
Like dew from the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ),
Like showers on the grass,
That tarry (wait) for no man
Nor wait (delay) for the sons of men.

Micah 5:⁸ And the remnant of Jacob
Shall be among the Gentiles,
In the midst of many peoples,
Like a lion among the beasts of the forest,
Like a young lion among flocks of sheep,
Who, if he passes through,
Both treads down and tears in pieces,
And none can deliver.

The power of the Jewish remnant who survive the Tribulation.

Micah 5:⁹ Your hand shall be lifted against your adversaries,
And all your enemies shall be cut off (destroyed).

Micah 5:¹⁰ “And it shall be in that day,” says the Lord (Yᵊhōvâ),
“That I will cut off ( destroy) your horses from your midst
And destroy your chariots.

Micah 5:¹¹ I will cut off the cities of your land
And throw down all your strongholds.

Micah 5:¹² I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no soothsayers.

Micah 5:¹³ Your carved images I will also cut off,
And your sacred pillars from your midst;
You shall no more worship the work of your hands;

Micah 5:¹⁴ I will pluck your wooden images (Heb. Asherim, Canaanite deities) from your midst; Thus I will destroy your cities.

Micah 5:¹⁵ And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury on the nations that have not heard (obeyed).”

• COMMENTARY AND CONCLUSION:
  
  Scripture calls the hatred between the Arabs and the Jews “An Ancient (Everlasting) Hatred”. It will NEVER be finished. Its appetite for violence will never be satisfied.
  
  Beginning as a prophecy concerning twins, (Esau the elder and Jacob the younger) were in the womb of Rebekah, Isaac’s wife. Esau, as the first to be delivered should have received the Jewish “Birthright” (The inheritance).
  
  And the Lord said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older (Esau) shall serve the younger (Jacob).” (Genesis 25:23)
  
  The two fraternal twins, different in every way, the hunter Esau and the mild tent dweller Jacob. Esau had a ravenous appetite after returning from hunting. His appetite is symbolic of his descendants appetite for violence which can never be filled.
  
  Jacob was boiling red stew and wanted Esau’s birthright which Esau sold for a bowl of Jacob’s stew. “And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright. (Genesis 25:34).”
  
  Esau is the progenitor of the modern day Arabs. Jacob is the progenitor of the modern day Jews.
  
  At the death of Isaac, Esau inherited neither birthright nor blessing.
  “Jacob Escapes from Esau- So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau said in his heart, ‘The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then I will kill my brother Jacob.’” (Genesis 27:41)
  
  When Esau sold his birthright he not only sold his inheritance but any and all responsibility for being the caregiver (shepherd) of Jacob’s future family tribes. The caregivers of family clans were called “Chiefs”.
  
  The birthright is like man’s salvation, chosen to oversee and serve.
  Jesus took on Himself the responsibility for man’s sins, giving His life so men have the right to be included in His family of believers and co-heirs in His inheritance afforded by the Father. Jesus is now the believer’s Chief. As co-heirs, the inheritance for believers includes eternal life, positions, titles, crowns, and rewards.
  
  To sell one’s birthright is akin to forfeiting one’s salvation. God has harsh words for Esau:
  Jacob (aka Israel) Beloved of God – “I have loved you,” says the Lord. “Yet you say, ‘In what way have You loved us?’ Was not Esau Jacob’s brother?” Says the Lord. “Yet Jacob I have loved; But Esau I have hated, and laid waste his mountains and his heritage for the jackals (dragons) of the wilderness.”(Malachi 1:2-3)
  
  As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.” (Romans 9:13)
  
  “Because you have had an ancient (Literally: Everlasting) hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time of their calamity … ¹⁴ ‘Thus says the Lord God: “The whole earth will rejoice when I make you desolate. ¹⁵ As you rejoiced because the inheritance of the house of Israel was desolate, so I will do to you; you shall be desolate, O Mount Seir (Literally: the mountain of demons), as well as all of Edom (land of Esau)—all of it! Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ (Ezekiel 35:5, 14-15)
  
  “The house of Jacob shall be a fire, And the house of Joseph a flame; But the house of Esau shall be stubble; They shall kindle them and devour them, And no survivor shall remain of the house of Esau,” For the Lord has spoken. (Obadiah 1:18)
  
  ‘Thus says the Lord God: “The whole earth will rejoice when I make you (Esau/Edom) desolate. As you rejoiced because the inheritance of the house of Israel was desolate, so I will do to you; you shall be desolate, O Mount Seir, as well as all of Edom—all of it! Then they shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ (Ezekiel 35:14-15)
